The book “In the Maelstrom. The Waffen-SS ‘Galicia’ Division and its Legacy” by Columbia University Visiting Professor Myroslav Shkandrij appeared in print in Canada

Who are the “Divisionists” (Veterans of the Division)?  What is the historical legacy of the “Galicia” Division?  What is the essence of the misunderstanding between the Ukrainian and Jewish communities involving the topic of the Division?  And what does Russian propaganda have to do with it?  These and other questions can be answered in the new book by Prof. Myroslav Shkandrij, “In the Maelstrom. The Waffen-SS ‘Galicia’ Division and its Legacy”. It was published at McGill-Queen’s University Press in Canada in the spring of 2023 with the financial assistance of the Ukrainian Studies Fund.  In 2023, Prof. Shkandrij taught Ukrainian history courses in the Ukrainian Studies Program at Columbia University.
