                                            A conference focusing on the Holodomor’s effect on Ukrainian culture was held at Columbia University
 
                             
                    On October 19, 2023, Columbia University hosted a one-day academic conference which analyzed the fate of Ukrainian culture in the 1930s, during the Holodomor. Eight participants, including senior and junior scholars, shared their research-based conclusions on the life of the intelligentsia, the Sovietization of schooling, language policy, the work of composers, the fate of artists and cinema. The conference was co-organized with the Holodomor Research and Education Consortium of the University of Alberta.
